Try downloading WordPress again, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account's control panel, and delete then replace your copies of everything on the server except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. That would hopefully print out some errors as to what exactly is wrong. Just like plugins, you can force the active theme to break by simply renaming it. Do not upload a fresh wp-content or you will wipe your site. This website gets used as our travel blog, all vacation photos get piled here for friends family and online location reviews to use.
