When I check the cartridge (black), it looks fine but the error message won't go away and the printer won't print. Inserted the ink cartridges back into the printer (really carefully)and it works fine now. Source

When you go to replace an ink cartridge this broken metal spring can get pushed into the poorly designed "flex" and easily rip through the runs.I have a 7410 and, while printing on a typical 24 lb paper, the paper somehow misfed. Is it true that there is a date stamp on hp 2610 cartridges or not? Thank you in advance. 02-17-2012, 07:15 AM #12 magicusb Registered Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Posts: 1 OS: macintosh I refill my carts. Every vendor has their strengths and weaknesses. I have computer friends who say HP is junk - mainly the software - and I have had some problems with the software.Good luck!Steve by steve2610 on Feb 21, 2007 at 4:46pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Inspect the plastic sheet with contacts on it where the cartridge plugs in.Seems that a spring wire in the carriage pops out of place and puts a hole in the plastic which damages the wiring. There is definitely something that makes this printer act stupid. This resulted in the paper and the "flex" contacting each other and the "flex" just ripped.A piece of paper ripped the "flex".
