Yesterday I installed 8.10 server from a burnt mini iso, and although I had to wait with patience to wait for a timeout everytime the drive was accessed, the install completed. This problem seems to have popped up with newer kernel versions, being that a lot of people didn't have the problem before trying to upgrade.
