It's pretty common which is basically because Ubuntu (or any other Linux distro) can't control your CD/DVD drive properly, it's probably trying to open/close it but doesn't know if it has or not.

Checked the MD5 sum. "burned" it on a brand new blank USB with Unetbootin. Blk_update_request I/o Error Fd0 Somehow my libdvdcss got deleted - probably during an upgrade, but I can only guess. Burned DVD-R and it worked fine.Which rather points the blame at the media/software/hardware/user not the ISO itself.
I gues running fsck in rescue mode should do something to solve the thing ? First: I got the same error in the tittle of this tread but in Karmic K. Seems to point at a kernel bug.
