This will read the VGDA of the disks which should still be intact. If you didn't do these steps, for example by running reducevg

If and internal SCSI one and have IBM contract maintenance you can call IBM and ask for a replacement, they will come and run some diag test (certify) in order to check the HW disk and will change if needed (that's if number of bad blocks is higher than a given percentage). Txs. The last 2 Sev2's took 7 days and 4 days before even being picked up and that was with multiple inquires into the SAC for updates on behalf of customers....so I was looking for other alternatives at the moment. The cable connection was not in ALL THE WAY , fixed it , rebooted , did a fsck on the file systems that did not mount , OK now.

If those steps don't work, run cfgmgr to discoveer the deleted disks and pick out one of the "hdisk" names that was part of the original volume group using the volume group id and then try to do an importvg -y

I assume that you deleted the volume group first and then deleted the hdisks by running "rmdev -dl hdiskx". Covered by US Patent.
