I tried to free up some ribbon by opening the scanning chamber but to no avail. What I think now has happened is that I don't have the scanning arm back in place and I'm not sure where to seat it to stop getting the "scanning" error.Either scanning arm position is the problem or maybe the black ribbon to the left of the machine didn't get seated like I thought it did.SO CLOSE - PLEASE ANY FEEDBACK WOULD BE APPRECIATED - to correct the "scanning" error. One thinks they could have put this up on their website, but no. Tried unplugging and replugging, uninstalling and reinstalling, even hooked it up to my husband's computer. After powering up it starts a cleaning session, the scanner moves and seems to reset, everything appears to be OK.When starting a copy or printjob, after a while and a second cleaning period a message comes, saying: paper empty, load paper and continue with OK.There is plenty of paper in the tray and I've checked the paper sensor behind the back door. Will the printer usually pull in the first page until it passes the mentioned sensor and then knows there is paper in?I've seen no other lever for the paper in the tray, like on other printers. This one doesn't move anything, so no paper will arrive at the lever behind the back cleaning door. After glueing it back on, the printer worked again. Thanks for your info. - Anonymous 0 Hello, I think I have a problem with the PSC 2355 related to the upon described paper jam faults. Turn the printer back on without the cartridges, then hopefully it will prompt you to insert cartridges instead of displaying the error. Everything seems to be OK in te configuration. (Even the printing and copy functions are running without problem)The problem occurs when the scan begins : during 3 seconds, the scans runs (i can see the light of the scan) but it stops with the error message "unknown error"TIA. Wait about 5 minutes. When I push in manually, the sensor works 'cause it shows paperjam then. The feeder motor is working well, Ive tested it with 12 V DC.

Seems like such a waste to through out an otherwise functioning device for such a tiny issue. Thanks,Bernie - mariner82 0 I've actually now found the part that snapped off inside the printer so I know what it's supposed to look like. There's a possibility I might be able to super glue it back on, though it's going to be very fiddly. If I can't fix it, what are the chances of finding a spare?Thanks-- Ben Francishttp://tola.me.uk by tola on Oct 21, 2007 at 3:16am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Well, I've super glued the lever back on and for now the printer is working again! that roller is just still on the floor of the paper feed tray. This will happen regardless if the PC was on or not, it will happen when trying to print, sometimes only getting 1" of print at the top of the page. Unless you already have cartridges to try that you can't return, I would not recommend buying new ones. I have tried to glue it without success.
