The HP website also recommends going into START ---> SEARCH ----> and type in 'Uninstall_L3' (check hidden files folders, system files if there)----> then go to file location and follow the prompt to remove HP from the system, which I did between removing everything as indicated here from the registry and deleting what was left in C\Programme files\HP.
