Any button press or the receipt of data clears sleep mode. All you do is remove the right side cover by pulling back and out to the right and then the open the cover over the formatter and it is right in front of you. wow... Try printing a job from a different software program.
Then -- by desparate means-- anothe re-boot & the memory counted all the way up & it went to ready & printed. If your printer will not come to ready it is to late. It is the defective TOSHIBA chip on the top middle of the formatter board & usually there is a white sticker over the chip. I believe the 3 is the latest available.The last few I received were 3's. I am just trying to salvage what I can for as low a price as possible = $0.Fortunately I have not experienced any problems - so far. Keep in mind I do not know if the service note is good in Germany. It was brand new and once it finished booting, was solidly up for weeks at a time, so no real problem. There also seems to be a bit of discoloration around the large BGA chip, is this normal? I read somewhere to heat up the motherboard.

Proper repair of these boards with this type of soldering method requires extremely sophisticated and expensive equipment including an xray machine so you can actually see the solder connections.
